Safety intelligence today.
Active protection planned.
Parakaleo Engine reads the radar your vehicle already has, from a wide range of makers, and works out what it would do about a threat, with a processing target of under 100 milliseconds. Parakaleo Mobile uses phone sensors only. Radar doesn't need painted lines to make sense of a road, so Engine is designed to work on routes with no lane markings too. Right now, detected close calls become a Safety Score you can see, not a command sent to your brakes. Safety Intelligence is read only: it doesn't warn the driver and doesn't intervene. Active Vehicle Protection is a future product that is planned only; certification has not been started and may not be achieved. If it were ever approved, this same engine is intended to carry out the decision as steering and braking, over a digital CAN bus on newer vehicles, or through hardware you source yourself on older ones, built to a reference specification we publish. We do not sell, ship, or install hardware.
One engine, two possible paths.
Not every vehicle gives us the same door in, and that's fine, because neither path touches your brakes or your steering today. What Tier 1 and Tier 2 describe is how Active Vehicle Protection could reach your vehicle if it is ever certified and approved for road use. Sorting your vehicle into one of the two costs nothing now and changes nothing about your Safety Intelligence subscription. Many newer vehicles carry a digital control network that a certified system might be able to talk to directly, depending on model, trim and security gateways. Older vehicles don't have that pathway, so if that day comes, reaching the wheel and the brake would mean a small hardware kit that you source yourself, built to a reference specification we publish for qualified installers. Installing it is at your own responsibility and risk, and actuator installation is restricted to approved early-access licensees under our Terms. We don't sell, ship, or install that hardware ourselves, and there's no rush to get it.
Many vehicles built since around 2017 expose steering and braking commands over a digital CAN bus. Whether a particular vehicle supports that depends on its make, model, trim and any security gateway. Where it does, that is the direct line Active Vehicle Protection would use if it is ever certified. Nothing about this tier changes what you get from Safety Intelligence today, and where the vehicle supports it, Active Vehicle Protection may need no extra hardware.
Older vehicles don't have that digital door in, so a certified system would need a small actuator kit wired to the wheel, plus something for the brake pedal too. A steering actuator handles the evasive steering, a linear actuator handles the braking, and an electronic throttle cut handles the acceleration, all off-the-shelf parts. You, or a qualified installer, source and fit them, at your own responsibility and risk, whenever you're ready. Actuator installation is restricted to approved early-access licensees under our Terms. We only publish a reference specification. We never sell, ship, or install hardware ourselves, and it costs nothing extra to be classified into this tier today.
Same engine, same possible future response, either way. Right now, both tiers get the exact same Safety Intelligence subscription. What differs is only how Active Vehicle Protection could reach the road if it is ever certified and approved.
What Parakletos does today, and what we're planning.
Many collision-avoidance systems lean on a camera to make sense of the road, so they're only as good as the light and weather allow. Parakaleo Engine uses the vehicle's radar, and Parakaleo Mobile uses phone sensors only. Radar generally keeps working in conditions that can challenge cameras, such as dust, heavy rain, headlight glare, and darkness, though performance depends on the vehicle's radar. Engine reads distance and motion directly off the object itself, so painted lane lines were never part of how it understands a road.
Works with a wide range of vehicles. Engine needs a vehicle from 2010 or newer that already has a supported radar and CAN access, plus parts you source yourself. Mobile is a phone app that uses phone sensors only, needs no vehicle hardware, and works as a companion to a licensed account. No proprietary hardware bundle, no factory re-engineering. Use the compatibility check in the portal to see where yours stands.
Our processing target is under 100 milliseconds between spotting a threat and working out what should happen next, steer, brake, or both. That is a software processing target, not a promise that a collision will be prevented or that the system acts faster than a driver. Today, the result becomes part of your Safety Score, and Safety Intelligence is read only: it does not warn the driver or intervene. Active Vehicle Protection is planned only and not yet started toward certification; if it were ever certified, it is intended to act on the same result.
If Active Vehicle Protection is ever certified, it is intended to connect through whichever pathway your vehicle actually has: direct CAN bus injection on modern vehicles, or an off-the-shelf actuator kit, sourced by you and specified by us, on older ones. Either way, one command is meant to coordinate steering and braking together, not a string of separate alerts.
Hazard events are logged with time-stamped telemetry, today. With Engine on supported vehicles with a supported radar, these events reach the portal and feed the Safety Score. That can support compliance reviews, conversations with insurers, and working out what happened after the fact. Parakaleo does not send this data to insurers today, and any future sharing would be opt-in, with the driver's consent.
Parakaleo publishes reference assembly drawings and hardware specifications for qualified installers, for if Active Vehicle Protection ever reaches your vehicle. You source and install any hardware yourself, at your own responsibility and risk, and actuator installation is restricted to approved early-access licensees under our Terms. Parakaleo does not supply hardware, so there's no manufacturing dependency on us.
Where Parakletos sits
Plenty of companies address pieces of fleet safety, and some of them do it well. In our assessment, many retrofit kits that actively brake are built around one vendor's own sensors and certified only for specific vehicle models, and systems that work across mixed fleets often stop at a warning light, or a score you get well after the fact. Parakaleo Engine runs on the radar already fitted to supported vehicles, from a wide range of makers, and turns detected close calls into a Safety Score today. The same engine is what a possible Active Vehicle Protection, which is planned only, would be built on. That's the gap we're aiming to fill.
